Rooibos

Rich in anti-oxidants, electrolytes and essential minerals, Rooibos has well known and ever increasingly discovered health benefits for the consumer. Rooibos is an internationally recognised anti-aging beverage, as supported by studies at the AICHI Medical University in Japan.

In a recent collaborative study by scientists from Rome* and Glasgow**, they found the first clinical evidence to prove that drinking Rooibos tea significantly increases the antioxidant capacity in human blood, thereby boosting the body’s natural defenses. The latest research found that the anti-oxidant capacity in the blood of healthy volunteers peaked one hour after drinking 500ml ready-to-drink Rooibos tea.

Rooibos is known to:

  • have powerful anti-spasmodic and anti-allergenic effects
  • improve circulation and liver function
  • strengthen lymph vessels
  • decrease cholesterol levels
  • assist in alleviating nervous tension and insomnia
  • have anti-inflammatory properties
  • assist in recovery from exercise (due to its naturally high levels of electrolytes and essential minerals)
