The infamous Balkanology is an event that you rely on to pull out all the stops. So we were not disappointed when they returned with another outlandish instalment last Saturday themed Animal Farm (that is George Orwell Communist Animal Farm not Old MacDonald Moo Cow Animal Farm).

Set at the Klein Libertas Theatre in Stellenbosch, party-goers were treated to an eccentric re-enactment of the famous allegory: The despot ‘Deadpi9′ and his comrades verbally abused the capitalistic human partygoers into submission with their ‘4 legs good, 2 legs bad’ mantra (amongst others) and refused to let them into the ‘Pig Floyd’ dance floor.  Finally the BOS Animal Liberation Front (known as the Party Animals) took down ‘The Man’ – or in this case: pig in a dramatic rebellion (think placards, violence, statue toppling) and burst open the doors to the once Forbidden Dance floor to allow two-legged and four-legged creatures to join in dance as true equals. Then the party really began!

Along with our BOS Animal Herd we also brought our BOSsewa. The drink of the night was a BOS + Vodka mixer special that went flying almost too fast to crack open new cans in time for the next order! Animal Farm was, without a doubt, one of the best and most creative parties BOS has had the pleasure of being involved with. Viva la Revolution!
