Rocking The Daisies

This year in BOS’s very short history has been the year of the music festival and this weekend finally brought us to the Mother of all S.A. music festivals – the much anticipated, much raged after, much of a muchness – Rocking The Daisies!

Each year the Cloof Wine Estate in Darling transforms into a party venue of epic proportions! 3 giant music stages, several smaller ones too, a theatre, a cinema, countless bars, vendors, activations and art installations. Everyone was pulling out all the stops to impress, inspire and entertain.

It wasn’t just music on offer: for those people looking for something different, there was SHNIT International Short Film Festival, burlesque, stand-up comedy, belly dancing, beatboxing and of course another hilarious instalment of the BOS GRAVELOCITY CHALLENGE! Best BOS Buds Corné and Twakkie once again took craziness to the next level! The BOS wrestling ring was buzzing as the duo challenged the crowds to become next Gravelocity champions.

Our new Baby BOSsewa bar and outdoor chill section was out in full force as souring temperatures of close to 40˚C had people clambering for an Ice Cold BOS Ice Tea or cocktail and chill on the deck chairs in the shade.

The weekend saw 3 swelteringly hot glorious days spent jamming to the beats, drinking to ones hearts content lounging by and swimming in the dam. Bands from around the world and across the country wowed fans who flocked to four stages in search of the perfect beat. The line-up was incredible and including acts such as The Arrows, Louise Carver, Sibot, Jack Mantis, Band of Skulls and Tumi and the Volume.

Although the party lasted into the wee hours of the morning thousands of people were up bright and early to watch the Rugby World Cup quarter-final rugby match between South Africa and Australia (we won in spririt).

‘Party hard, tread lightly’ is the mantra of Rocking the Daisies. Organisers endeavor to use only the most environmentally friendly practices, offsetting their carbon footprint. In support of their green ideology BOS sponsored BOS Ice Tea to all attendees that walked or cycled to the Daisies to make sure they kept themselves hydrated.

Rocking The Daisies was an unforgettable weekend!

Thank you to all the organisors and to everyone who took part in the BOS Gravelocity Challenge!
